Cat Invaders Engineer
Version 1.1's turret class. Useful. Not a skip button for Floppa.
Engineer is the Version 1.1 class people install Cat Invaders for after they already died to Floppa as a Knight. OneBed Studio listed it next to checkpoints, new cats, and a Vampire weapon line. This page is how to spend Gold on the kit without turning the fish into a turret museum.
If you do not own Engineer yet, keep playing the class guide unlock path. Codes still do not grant classes. 25MVISITS is 250 Gold, not a job change. Redeem on the codes hub, then come back.
What Engineer is for
Engineer is a lane tool. You place damage that keeps shooting while you kite, shop, or eat. That is the whole pitch. It is not a second Medic. It is not a Maxwell skip. It is extra splash that does not require your crosshair for every tick.
Good Engineer nights:
- Solo, when you need to pause-shop without the spawn eating the pile
- Co-op, when the team already has a Medic and a Knight and nobody is watching a side lane
- Checkpoint holds, when you want a turret up before the next nametag
Bad Engineer nights:
- First 20 waves with no ranged rank of your own
- Public 18-player chaos where six people drop turrets on the same tile
- Using the class as an excuse to skip regen armor before Floppa
Shop order on Engineer
Follow upgrade priority anyway:
- Melee bootstrap if you are broke, or skip if codes covered ~200 Gold.
- Your ranged splash. A turret does not replace the gun in your hands.
- Merchant coin boost on sight.
- Engineer tools / turret ranks after splash is online.
- Regen armor before wave 50.
- Food so the armor works.
- Walls last unless the fish is currently in a mouth.
Vampire-line weapons from the same patch are a shop track. Buy them if the weapon tier list still likes the DPS. Do not buy them because the name is spooky.
How to place tools
Put damage where cats enter, not on the fish. A turret on the objective is a decoration. A turret covering the clump lets you kite El Gato without the adds deleting the run.
If a wipe rebuilds the instance, rebuild DPS first. Do not assume Version 1.1 persisted every toy. Check the lane with your eyes.
Co-op callouts: “turret left,” “I’m shopping,” “fish.” Engineer who never calls is just another person staring at the shop UI. Role splits live on builds.
Engineer versus the rest of the roster
- Snowman — still the solo splash king. Pick Snowman if you want to carry wave 100 without toys.
- Medic — still the co-op first pick. Engineer does not heal the Knight who stood in green.
- Knight — still the plated body. Engineer does not hold a laser in the face.
- Ninja / Alchemist — still the spicy picks. Alchemist is a day-7 daily, not a 1.1 unlock.
- Vampire / Necromancer / Builder — names that show up in chat after 1.1. Treat them as extra kits on the classes page until we see them hold a Maxwell. Do not reroll your account waiting for a rumor.
Class tier list is the rank table. This page is the job description.
Events, scripts, and Engineer
Golden Weekend x2 Gold is how turret ranks stop feeling expensive. Codes still do not double. Auto upgrade loaders will happily dump Gold into the wrong row; if you use them, watch the first 30 seconds or play by hand.
Patch notes for the class drop: Version 1.1. If a future patch nerfs turret HP, we will say so there, not in a fake Trello.
A clean Engineer session
Redeem codes. Solo or friends-only. Aim assist on (controls). Range to 550. Place one turret on the inbound clump. Floppa with regen armor and food. Take the checkpoint. Log off or push El Gato. That is a complete night. Anything else is content creator brain.
Engineer is a good class. It is not the game. The game is still Gold, splash, and not standing in green.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Cat Invaders questions.
How do I unlock Engineer in Cat Invaders?
Through the class shop / progression after Version 1.1. Codes do not grant Engineer.
Should beginners pick Engineer?
Only after your own ranged weapon works. A turret on wave 5 does not replace splash.
Does Engineer replace Medic in co-op?
No. Bring a Medic. Engineer covers a lane; Medic covers people who stood in lasers.
Do turrets survive a checkpoint wipe?
Do not assume they do. Rebuild DPS first, then place tools again.
