Cat Invaders Builds

Three loadouts that match how people actually survive waves.

Builds and Loadouts

A Cat Invaders build is a shopping order plus a standing position. It is not a 20-piece armor set with hidden procs. Gold is tight, waves do not pause for theorycraft, and your teammates will buy melee anyway. These loadouts keep the fish alive anyway.

Pair with player classes, the class tier list, and upgrade priority. Redeem codes before the first wave so the opener is not theoretical.

Build 1 — Solo splash (default)

Class: Snowman if you have it, otherwise any splash-friendly kit.
Position: off-axis from the spawn clump.
Shop: melee to 200 → ranged splash forever → merchant boost → regen armor at Floppa → food → walls.
Settings: aim assist on (controls).
Goal: wave 100 route from the high-wave guide.

This is the build that makes YouTube tutorials look easy. It fails if you stand in your own splash or if you “just upgrade walls for one minute.”

Build 2 — Co-op Medic

Class: Medic.
Position: behind the laser line, eyes on downed players and the fish.
Shop: food track first, modest range so you are not helpless, armor if you keep eating stray shots.
Callouts: “I have food,” “don’t die in green,” “I cannot revive you inside the beam.”
Goal: make a messy 18-player server completable through Floppa.

Medic is not AFK. If nobody is down, shoot the clump. If somebody is down under Floppa, wait for the laser to miss. A revive into a beam is two deaths.

Build 3 — Knight hold

Class: Knight.
Position: between adds and the fish, not inside the boss hitbox.
Shop: armor, then enough melee or short range to delete eaters, then walls if you are the designated mason.
Goal: beat Floppa without the objective dying while the carry kites.

Knight hold fails when it becomes “I tank the laser because I have armor.” You have armor so you can take a mistake, not a personality.

Public lobby split

If you cannot voice chat, type the job in chat before wave 1. If nobody answers, play Solo Splash and assume you are also the fish guard. Do not play Knight Hold in a lobby with zero damage.

Suggested 3-stack: Splash + Medic + Knight. Suggested duo: Splash + Medic. Suggested 18: one Medic, as many splash as you can stand, one person who actually looks at walls.

Event modifier

During Golden Weekend every build buys armor earlier. x2 Gold is how Knight Hold gets plates before wave 40 and how Solo Splash skips the 550 Gold grind. Do not spend the extra on drip.

Script-shaped “builds”

Auto upgrade scripts will try to buy everything. That is not a build, that is a leak. If you still want it, read auto upgrade and keep the ToS risk in mind. These three loadouts assume you can press the shop yourself.

Swapping mid-run

If Floppa is up and you are a sword main, you already lost the shop phase. Buy food and armor, kite, and reroll the identity next run. Builds are cheap to restart and expensive to salvage at wave 49.

When in doubt, return to Solo Splash. It is the build Getting Started was secretly teaching.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Cat Invaders questions.

What is the best Cat Invaders build?

Solo splash for most players. Medic if you have a group that dies. Knight if the fish keeps dying.

Can I mix Knight and splash?

Yes. Buy armor for the boss, keep upgrading range. Pure wall Knight without damage still loses.

Should every co-op player use the same build?

No. One splash, one save, one hold. Clones of melee are how 18-player servers wipe.

Do builds require Robux?

No. Gold, dailies, and shop order. Codes only speed the Gold.
